Beacon

Own your opt-out data.
Consent tracked independently of your CRM, stored in your own database.

Beacon is a Melosso open source email consent service. Recipients manage preferences via signed links and your systems verify consent through the API.

What you get out of the box

HMAC link signing, double opt-in flows, consent buckets, and a full audit log: no third-party service required.

HMAC-signed opt-out links

Generate secure, self-validating opt-out URLs. Recipients can unsubscribe without a database round-trip for validation.

Consent buckets

Organise consent records by campaign, list, or context. Check and override granular permission states via REST API.

Double opt-in flow

Built-in confirmation email flow for newsletter and campaign signups, including customisable confirmation URLs.

Web admin panel

Manage buckets, inspect consent records, and override states through the browser.

Consent locked inside your CRM

  • Opt-outs are platform-specific. Mailchimp knows, your ERP does not
  • Switching providers resets your suppression list
  • No audit trail of who opted out and when
  • Consent scattered across systems used by different teams

Consent as its own source of truth

  • All sending systems query the same Beacon API before sending
  • Switch providers without losing a single opt-out
  • Full audit log: every change has a timestamp and source
  • One place to inspect and manage consent across every campaign

Beacon: Consent as a Service

The automation system handled sending. It had no concept of what staff wanted to receive. Those are different jobs.
